Philadelphia Fugitive Stole $4K Worth Of Designer Handbags In Evesham: Police

A 21-year-old fugitive has been arrested in Philadelphia in connection with allegedly stealing $4,000 in designer handbags from a store in South Jersey, authorities said.

Fred Johnson of Philadelphia was charged on a warrant with robbery and theft, Evesham police said on Tuesday, Jan. 9. 

On Nov. 9, 2023, Evesham police responded to the Second to None Consignment shop at 230 N. Maple Ave. for a robbery.

A store employee told police that a man had entered the store and stole over $4,000 in designer handbags, police said. When employees tried to stop him, he allegedly used force to exit the store, police said. No one was injured.

A suspect was identified as Johnson. A warrant was issued for Johnson’s arrest and he was apprehended in Philadelphia on Dec. 6, 2023, police said. Johnson is currently incarcerated in Philadelphia awaiting extradition back to New Jersey, they said.

This investigation is ongoing.
